Simple Homemade Veg Biryani

Ingredients:

🍚 Rice (any kind) – 2 cups 💧 Water – 4 cups 🥕 Mixed vegetables – 1½ cups 🌿 Cumin seeds – ½ tsp 🟡 Turmeric powder – 1 tsp 🌶️ Garam masala powder – ½ tsp 🌿 Cumin powder (optional) – ½ tsp ⚫ Black pepper powder (optional) – ½ tsp 🛢️ Oil – 2 tbsp 🧂 Salt – to taste 🌶️ Green chilies (optional, chopped) – 3–4 🌿 Coriander leaves – for garnish Method: 1. Cook the Rice Wash the rice thoroughly until water runs clear. Add rice to a rice cooker or cooking pot with 4 cups of water. Cook until the rice becomes soft and fluffy. If using a pan, keep checking and add a little water if needed. Make sure the rice is cooked but NOT mushy or sticky. 2. Prepare the Vegetables Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and green chilies. Let them sizzle. Add mixed vegetables and sauté well. Cover and cook on medium heat for 2–3 minutes. Stir every few minutes so they cook evenly. 3. Combine Everything Once vegetables are fully cooked, add the cooked rice. Sprinkle salt, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, and black pepper. Gently mix everything without breaking the rice. Turn off the heat once well combined. 4. Garnish & Serve Top with fresh coriander leaves and extra green chilies (optional). Serve hot with pickle, raita, or your favorite curry.
